Appendix · Shukinkara document version history

v1 (original)

The first written form of Shukinkara. Established the kanji etymology, the soul token, the karma system, the Council of 117, the precious metal-backed token, and the kill switch. Framed as a covenant with religious resonance. Hivemind referenced as the first reference implementation. Source materials drawn from years of UMB and Hivemind work.

v2

Major reframe: introduced Hivemind.AI-OS as the personal AI gateway each user receives on entry. Established the architectural inversion - the model runs on the user's hardware, the data never leaves unless authorised. Added Two Doors structure (Hivemind first, full Shukinkara as deeper commitment). Soul token mechanics expanded with social recovery (3-7 guardians) and digital heir flow.

v3

Restructured around legitimacy concerns. Added Bill of Digital Rights, What This Is Not section, The Endpoint, and What Cannot Be Scored subsection. Tightened the Two Doors framing. Added explicit failure modes. Introduced the principle that the system stops on purpose rather than running forever.

v4

Six structural additions: On AI in Moral Governance defence, Graduated Response (six tools before the kill switch), Technical Reality with v1/v2/research gradients, Governance of the Designers naming the author and their leverage, Adversarial Scale threat model, and a defence of the word "covenant." AI Citizens cap at 5% (10% absolute). The Twelve elected by population vote rather than appointed by Council.

v5

Strip of religious framing per the religious studies critique. "Covenant" replaced with "agreement" throughout. "Soul token" became "identity token." "Commandments" became "Articles." Reframe as a member-owned cooperative rather than a quasi-polity, per the political theory critique. Twenty expert reviews integrated as drop-in prose. KARA as separate fungible currency split from the soulbound identity token. Diversified reserve basket. Cayman foundation + Swiss Verein legal structure. ZK nullifier replaces biometric retention for Sybil resistance.

v6

Three additions in response to external review: "When uniqueness fails" subsection naming the synthetic biometric arms race and migration paths, basic income reframed with explicit AUD 5-20/month early-stage figure (not the AUD 200 ceiling), and "What is actually likely" subsection acknowledging the realistic first-decade outcome of a few thousand committed members. Three more after that: Phased Implementation section with three phases, treasury politics paragraph, biometric kill-switch link.

v6-1

Council restructure: 117 + Operating Committee presented as one integrated structure rather than 117 with a patch on top. Opening line "The Council is 117 in standing, fifteen to twenty-one in operation." Subsection "What the Council produces, honestly" carries the AI-honesty framing.

v6-2

Origin story added: "Where the 117 came from" subsection with the full categorical breakdown of nine categories and named seats. Total resolves at 117. Defence of antagonistic inclusion with cost paragraph naming the trade-off explicitly. Defence of synthetic inclusion. The 117 grounded in actual provenance rather than treated as a number plucked from the air.

v7

Comprehensive appendices. Source documents from years of UMB and Hivemind work hosted alongside the constitution: 14 Articles canonical and expanded, UMB Governing Charter, Operations Framework, Implementation Framework, Procedural Safeguards, Enforcement & Compliance, Threat Modeling, Initial Stress Test, Reform Round Structure, Definitions, Definitions Codex, Operational Playbook, Live Deployment Package, 1,000,000-Year Simulation Results, the worldview mapping (The 120 and The 130), original Shukinkara document, Hivemind Blueprint, Hivemind Vision V8, Hivemind Whitepapers, Hivemind Pitch Decks, the Streamables article series, the Master Plan series, the karma data opt-out analysis. Three new content appendices: this Glossary, the Voting Records, and this Changelog.

v8

Navigation and structure: Table of Contents at the top with collapsible section links, anchor IDs on every h2 (34) and h3 (76) heading, § permalink markers that fade in on hover, appendix sub-navigation row inside the Appendices section. Cleaner minimal styling on the navigation links to match the document's restraint. Founder allocation added in The Token and the Fuel section: 10-year compensation for the founding work, capped at 2.5% of annual licensing revenue or AUD 200,000 per year (whichever is smaller), paid from licensing revenue not from the reserve or basic income, sunsets at year eleven, amendable downward by member vote. Governance of the Designers section updated to acknowledge the allocation honestly and link to its full description.
